Wow! It’s been busy around here!!

My aunt Clare reminded me that it’s been a while since we’ve updated.  And being the obedient niece that I am….

Along with the craziness in December, we decided to put our house on the market thinking it would take a few months to sell.  Well, the first people to look at the house bought it.  We also managed to find a house that we LOVE that same week.  Needless to say, we moved a month after putting it on the market.  I guess you could say it was all meant to be.  The last couple of months have been a whirlwind.

Camden will be 15 months next week if you can believe that one!  It’s been a joy watching him grow and change every single day.  He’s now standing on his own and loves to push his grocery cart all around the house.  Of course, there’s the hilarous monkey crawl that he still uses to zoom all around the place.  We’re thinking he’ll be walking in no time.  He’s also learned how to climb up and down the stairs.  He even turns himself around at the top of the stairs to go feet first (he may have learned that lesson the hard way - poor kid).  Camden is probably one of the happiest kids I’ve ever known.  He smiles constantly and laughs all of the time.  He’s a very content little boy, just happy to be doing anything.  We love that about him!

This Friday, he has to have minor surgery on his tongue.  It’s very attached, he can’t stick out his tongue. Ryan had the same issue when he was a little one too.  Unfortunately, the doctor will have to put him under to clip the tongue because it’s so far attached.  They’ve told us that it’s a minor surgery, but anytime anesthesia is involved, we get a little nervous.

We’re slowly unpacking and organzing and are loving our new home!  We’ve already met many of our neighbors and are excited about all of the kids in the cul-de-sac.  There’s a boy 1 month younger than Camden next door.  Sounds like a long time BFF to me :0) !

Well, this is very long winded.  I’m sure mymach zehnder modulator Aunt Clare is satisfied :0)

We hope you have a healthy and happy 2009 and will keep you updated as much as possible!

Happy 1st Birthday Camden!

WOW!!! What a year with the little guy! While I sit hear writing this post I remember so vividly coming home from my run and Jolie on the couch with contractions.  “Well guess this is one of those early contraction incidents I’ve heard about…” How naive of me.  I also learned a comment such as “WHOA!” from the on call Doctor, is really a sign things are not as they should be. I remember Jolie and I wondering if a baby could survive being delivered at 27 1/2 weeks. Ready or not, he was coming that evening at 12:36 AM. The little Cam-man decided it was time to start playing by his own rules.  The next 50 days Camden lived at Littleton Adventist Hospital.  I honestly cannot put into words what those nurses do there day in and day out.  The nurses were the absolute definition of going above and beyond in their jobs and truly care about the babies and families going through a scary and unique experience. They really made the hospital feel like a home for Camden, Jolie & I.

Since those 50 days in the NICU, our little C-Man has started on his life’s journey of being a boy.  He is quite the happy and healthy little boy. We could not ask for more.

He keeps our hands full, but we have the feeling this will be nothing compared to the days ahead. We look forward to every new day with him and are amazed at what he learns each day.

Since that late night last October, our little guy has played by his own agenda.  As a first time father, I couldn’t be prouder to have such a trait in our little guy! We can only hope he paves his own unique way through life.

Love,

Ryan, Jolie & Camden!

PS: We cannot express our love and thanks enough to our family and friends who were right there beside us physically and spiritually along the journey. Thank you!!!!
